The Nicholson Galleries are now open - at the University of Sydney's Chau Chak Wing Museum

The University of Sydney’s brand new Chau Chak Wing Museum has opened to the public in November 2020. The Museum brings together the University’s three major collections - antiquities, natural history, and art - within one purpose-built museum.

studioplusthree were commissioned to design the Nicholson Galleries, featuring the University’s extensive collection of artefacts from ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome, with the Egyptian collection being the largest in the southern hemisphere. The Galleries, located across Level 2, consist of a number of different exhibition spaces, ranging from daylit atrium spaces for Roman sculpture, to more atmospheric, intimate spaces for the Egyptian collection.
