studioplusthree is an architecture practice based in Sydney, focused on the design of bespoke work that responds to place, craft and the human experience.
At the heart of our work is how spaces feel. Through a creative process of exploration, innovation and transformation, we aim to create a special outcome for each project that reflects who it is designed for, and the place it is in.
We work closely with individuals, families, commercial and cultural organisations to bring their vision to life. Our approach is specific to each project, but inherent within all our work is a love of natural materials, light, texture and detail.
Our aim is to create architecture that feels generous, warm and refined, which brings joy and comfort to daily life. We work collaboratively and thoughtfully, crafting each project from concept to completion. Our studio is committed to designing in a way that is sustainable, specific to place, and built to last.

Our Approach
A collaborative and creative approach is key to the outcome of the projects we work on. We believe in the process of making - through physical models, hand-sketching, research and testing - to explore options and communicate ideas. Each project is the result of the specific combination of client and site – distilled through the design process into its own form.
We seek to produce work that is authentic and calm, refined and robust; durable and sustainable. We believe in the importance of craftsmanship and collaboration to make enduring buildings that fulfil the spatial, emotional and functional needs of our clients, respecting the experience and knowledge of those we work with.
The work of our studio has been awarded and published widely in Australia and internationally, including at the Houses Awards, the Australian Interior Design Awards, and the Australian Institute of Architects NSW Architecture Awards.
Services
Our architectural design service covers all stages of the project from concept to completion. As well as key stages such as approvals, documentation and being on-site during construction, we work collaboratively with you throughout to bring out the character and personality of your home, bringing together exterior spaces and interior details into a seamless experience. Whether it’s the idea of living within a tumbling hillside garden, to framing a harbour view, we seek to connect people to place, sharing our knowledge, experience, and love for design throughout.
